Formed in 2008, Danish metallers Process wasted no time recruiting the right line up required to create their ideal sound: a vicious cacophony caught between All That Remains vicious, yet melodious assault and the technical chops of Lamb Of God. After recruiting lead guitarist Mario Mrsic, the quintet set to work refining their sonic assault into what would become their debut album.
In late 2009 the band hit the studio with renowned Danish producer Jacob Hansen to record what would become their first full-length Album – Through Acknowledgement Only. For the purpose of this record, they recruited renowned Danish drummer Mads Lauridsen (Konkhra/Panzerchrist/The Cleansing). However, in 2011 the band recruited Jonas Thygesen for all future tours and recording sessions.
After four years of hard work, Process are finally ready to take to the world and fly. Their brutal, yet oddly accessible sound set to light up stages and elate metal fans around the world in the same way their idols have.

We were lucky enough to take an early listen, and here’s what we thought:
‘Detached from Life’ has screams from the trench that are fast overcome by fire. Thundering clouds of blistering guitars stream their filth through the sad heavens – creating filaments of bloody rain. Vocals (Lennarth Christensen) vex in agony, as the flexed guitars create irritable tortured cries of anguish. This is moody and magnificent.
‘Scars Remain‘ continues the furious blast from the title track, with the escaping rhythms and those turbulent entreaties from the first piece, that then fold in on themselves, creating a harmonious wrapping of ideas. Plentiful glass cutting guitars pierce the morbid depths – and the bass-notes are so strong that they threaten to shake the dead back to life.
‘Fatality‘ – Stressful and nerve-racking guitars wriggle and writhe their way loose from a monumentally agonising and heavyweight bass-sound that hold this piece so solidly down. Some guitar notes flee up like shooting stars into the sooty sky – but they are soon dragged down by the severity of the infernal clamour, as it growls and sucks all life out of light.
‘Human Sacrifice‘ has laser-sharp fireflies of sound, shining guitars that rise against the jet black skies, and voices that reach in to grab your soul. While ‘Reason to Resist’ shouts and screams like a mutant beast caught in a hellish crucible. Twisting in terrible contortions before it meets its maker. A melting pot of spattering drums create a festival of fire-sounds, while the buzzing bass notes squeeze the final drops of blood from your frayed veins. Then the emerald guitars gnash, snarl and grind – and their fangs dig deep into your most vulnerable parts, and start to poison you with their germinating venom.
‘Turning Pale‘ has the blackest riff you will experience this year. Full-bloodied and voracious. The voice is throbbing with hunger – like a disinherited fang-wolf … left alone to die in a blackout. Flickers of exquisite guitars lighten the decadent scene. But these guiding lights soon dim and flicker, when subdued by the scattered heaps of decay.
‘Layers of Deception‘ is resplendent with flaming guitars and noble voices… this is an anti-anthem like no other: To take with you, in your heart, as you submerge into the depths of mendacity and meaningless that surrounds our breed. Vocals run and jump over you, while the terrifyingly fast paced guitars continue to lash at you – in the face – until you are totally overcome by the entire experience.
Take a deep breath. Then listen to it all over again. Magnificent.
