crowbar longFurious Doomcore protagonists ‘Crowbar’ … who have fueled over nine full length CD’s in their career – the second selling over 100,000 units world-wide – are now celebrating a full-throttle reign lasting more than 24 long years (and through countless metamorphisms)  – their invigorating work still carries on … they are working just as heard as they ever were … creating, persevering and performing to waves of new fans and old stalwarts.

The band have recently started a grand tour of the realm (and Europe) with ‘Hang The Bastard’ and ‘Dripback’.

You can now catch Crowbar HEADLINING next week at the Black Country Metal Fest at the Slade Rooms ( 8th March. )

Obzidian-Baz-Foster-©-Neil-Also at the Black Country Metal Fest are our favorite gory groove-metal thrash-over beasts Obzidian

Formed in Stafford – their brutal ear deafening thrash metal shatters the nerves and disconnects the blood vessels in the spine.

And it  is totally indispensable.

Savage Messiah shortLondon-based ‘Savage Messiah’ are about to release their new album ‘The Fateful Dark’ through Earache Records and have been on a UK tour with Soulfly during the drenched month of Feb. Also at the Black Country Metal Fest.

Hellblazer’ from the album is a splendid dash through a barbed-wire forest of guitars and groaning bass-notes.

The heroic vocals fly like chivalric streamers in the gore-filled air.

Ancient Ascendent shortReading UK black-metal quartet ‘Ancient Ascendant’ have been rising and prospering since their all-powerful ‘The Grim Awakening’ release in 2011 – followed by an all-conquering tour with Enslaved/Winterfylleth in 2013 – followed by more shows with Hypocrisy. Also at the Black Country Metal Fest

Their new full length : ‘Echoes and Cinder’ captures the beauty and ethereal nobility of the twin majesties of darkness and metal.

Gehtika shortTongue-in-cheek theatrical madness is the name-of-the-game for the Midlands based metal athletes Gehtika.

Yes, they may well be spiffingly spruced-up Edwardian gentleman, but they are dangerous. Deadly, actually.

Their ‘Unconventional Manicism’ has been causing quite a stir.

They are getting a fair bit of (well deserved) attention too… since being nominated in the Best New Band category of the Pure Rawk Awards.

See them at the Black Country Metal Fest.
