‘Queen Babylon’ is the new music video by New York City melodic hard rock band Winger.
Winger gained popularity during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The band’s two platinum albums, Winger and In the Heart of the Young, along with charting singles “Seventeen”, “Headed for a Heartbreak” and “Miles Away”, put the band on the top of the charts by the early 1990’s.
The band broke up in 1994, but reunited in 2001 for several successful tours.
Better Days Comin’ is the sixth studio album by Winger – released in April 2014 – “Queen Babylon” is track two from the album. We had a listen:
Plutonic slugs of seething hot guitar create the scaffolding for this song. The keys (original keyboardist Paul Taylor) blend together with drums to create huge fountains of lava power. The main voice is poignant, resonant and burning hot. And the harmonies are sturdy too! All the while, those guitars burn and growl under the cloak.
The chorus is exciting and intoxicating “God save Queen Babylon…”
Yeah! This is just the right side of angry and hot. It retains the melody, song-structure and professionalism you would expect… and a dual-guitar break (at the end) that will make you squeal.
