NIGHTWISH Bring Some Élan

The eighth NIGHTWISH studio album, Endless Forms Most Beautiful — will be out March 27th.

After announcing that drummer Jukka Nevalainen was to (temporarily) part from the band due to illness— Kai Hahto (Wintersun ) stands in on this.

Floor Jansen – She will probably leave you shivering on the wind-lashed edge of a cliff while she polishes off yet another Jägerbomb…

Our noble Scriba Pontificus has been watching the vid:

Floor Jansen seems to be hanging around in some seedy cabaret bar in this video — rather than wandering the lonely places of Finland (as the bumpf in their publicity had suggested.)

It’s all very well, her imploring you to meet her where “cliffs meet the sea” — but you would probably be left shivering on the wind-lashed edge … while she polished off yet another Jägerbomb in the burlesque tavern she now calls home.

Anyway, this song has an imaginative chug and enjoyable ripples. The whistle brings a little mellow folkiness — but there is no weight here.

It’s as light as the foam on the wave crests as they continue crashing against the sea cliff whilst you wait, forlornly,  for Jansen to arrive…

Nevermind, this euro-pop-rock will squirrel itself into your mind before it plays havoc with your sleep patterns (no wonder Jukka needed time off!)
